Coping With Anxiety

Listen to what God days about anxiety.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Philippians 4:6-7 NIV

God is aware that we are prone to be anxious. It is "a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome."

Life is full of uncertainty and therefore anxiety is so common in the human experience.

Jesus understood this when he said “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Matthew 6:25 NIV

Do not worry!  Now now do we deal with situations with uncertain outcomes?

"In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"

So often we are anxious for everything and pray for nothing,!

We must learn to pray in every situation and circumstance. It is jot just saying words. This praying us with thanksgiving! It sees a definite outcome. It sees that when you ask for an outcome you can than Him for the outcome because He will give you what you asked for.

The promises of God are certain. They take uncertainty out of the picture. For example,

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

"Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,,"   Psalms 23:6 NIV

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

Matthew 6:25 NIV

For every need situation or circumstance the promises of God give us certainty.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."  Romans 8:28 NIV

Therefore He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;  Psalms 46:10. Stop worrying and relax. Rest assured in His love and promises. Be anxious for nothing but in everything pray ….with thanksgiving for His positive certain outcome.

If you cannot grasp it read how Joseph was in prison a slave accused falsely if rape, but he held to the outcome God had promised, and became second ruler of Egypt. No need to he anxious while in jail, his outcome was certain.

"till what he foretold came to pass, till the word of the Lord proved him true." Psalms 105:19

"Lord I commit my situation to you and I rest on your promised outcome and thank you that it shall turn out as you said in your promise!"

May God bless you,
